Soludo’s campaign gets N395m boost

Abuja—The PDP has raised more than N395 million at a fund raiser for the Anambra governorship poll.

The highest donation of N250 million was made by Chief Arthur Eze, the chief launcher of the occasion, while Chief Emeka Offor and Chief Ifeanyi Okoye contributed N100 million and N10 million, respectively.

Vice President Goodluck Jonathan, who is the chairman of the campaign committee, said that another  event would hold soon in Lagos to attract more funds for the Anambra election.

Jonathan assured the electorate that the party would win the February 6 election.
“I am quite sure that PDP will win the governorship election in Anambra if sufficient funds are generated for the election,” he said.

Goverbor Isah Yuguda of Bauchi State, who is the Chairman of the Finance Committee of the Campaign Organisation, said he would come out with enough resources for the exercise in the next 10 days.

“I guarantee all contributors to the fund the necessary transparency, accountability and prudence with the money in the interest of the people of Anambra,” he said.

Personalities at the occasion included Governors Gabriel Suswam of Benue, Mahmoud Shinkafi of Zamfara and Segun Oni of Ekiti, as well as the Minister of Education, Dr Sam Egwu, and his Police Affairs counterpart, Dr Ibrahim Lame, among others.
