Dina: DIG in Lagos, report out weekend

By Kolade Larewaju
THE Deputy Inspector-General of Police, DIG, Israel Ajao, investigating the gruesome slaying of the gubernatorial candidate of the Action Congress, AC, in the 2007 election in Ogun State, Otunba Dipo Dina, has moved his operations to Zone 11 Headquarters in Lagos.

Police sources told Vanguard, yesterday, at the Police Command Headquarters in Abeokuta, that Ajao, after interrogating the two people with Dina in the car – his driver and the prophetess, immediately moved to Lagos where he is coordinating the investigation.

“There was no difference in what they told the DIG and what they had told our commissioner before he came. The DIG, of course, interviewed them separately. I can assure you that the man is determined to get to the root of the whole thing quickly.”

Ajao, the sources added, had told those working with him on the case, mostly detectives from Onikan, Lagos, that a report should be ready before weekend.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the command, Mr. Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who spoke to our correspondent in Abeokuta, yesterday, stated that the preliminary reports which he confirmed would be ready this week would catalogue the extent of police investigations and the way forward.
