Ijaw hail Alele Williams at 77

The Ijaw Monitoring Group (IMG) has described Professor Alele Williams as a special gift from God to the Niger Delta.
In a congratulatory  message signed by Comrade Joseph Evah, IMG Coordinator on behalf of the group to mark Alele-William’s 77th Birthday Anniversary, the Ijaw stated that the former Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin is an accomplished mathematician who has proved to the world that apart from the gift of natural resources, the Niger Delta has abundant talents that can compete with the best brains anywhere in the world.  The group also felicitated with the Itsekiri people for giving the region such amazon.
The group also urged the Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan to emulate his Rivers State counterpart by immortalising the name of the academician.

“We are begging the Delta State governor in the name of Almighty God to name either the state teaching hospital in Ogahara Delta State University Abraka or College of Education Warri after professor Alele -Williams like what Governor Amaechi of Rivers State did by naming the biggest and best state Hospital in Rivers State after Justice Karibe Whyte.”

“We thank God, our own Alele-Williams is one of the exceptional talents in the world. In the Niger Delta Hall of fame where the Ijaw Monitoring Group displays over 300 Niger Delta personalities, she is in grade ‘A’ category where you see photographs of only people who are the first to make landmark achievement in their chosen profession and Professor Alele-Williams earns the position in the Hall of Fame as the first woman Vice chancellor in Nigerian  history”.

“Governor Udughan should give Mama Alele- Williams this honour while she is still with us on Earth for placing Niger Delta on the world map of mathematics.

“We are taking the pain to explain all these because some political prostitutes or charlatans around the governor may advice him against the honour with the argument that the professor is not a politician who deserves such honour that will promote the electoral fortunes of the Governor.”
