Sona Breweries targets increased market penetration

Sona Breweries has announced its plans to pursue further penetration into the Nigerian lager market, through the manufacturing of high quality products and stimulation of customers’ demand through various reward programme.
To this end, one of its products — Goldberg lager beer has embarked on a nationwide consumer promotion campaign with various attractive prizes to reward its loyal customers.

The consumer promo tagged “win win promo”, will run till December 15, 2009.
According to Mr. Clement Agboma, Group Brand Manager, Sona Breweries, the marketing penetration strategy is to continuously provide affordable quality brands to Nigerians.

He noted that its flight into the future commenced in April 2009, with the launch of three new home grown national brands – ‘Malta Gold’, ‘William Dark Ale’ and ‘Goldberg Lager Beer’ and the rebranding of the Sona corporate logo tagged “Pride of Nigeria.”

He said, “The vision at Sona Group is to be number one in the provision of affordable quality beverage brands to Nigerians using the best available locally sourced materials in the country. This is what has made us an International Standard Organisation (ISO) and the Nigerian Industrial Standard (NIS) awards winners.

“Our new brands are fast becoming household names in Nigeria and beyond and the determination of our entire staff to make these brands a success cannot be over-emphasised.

“This is achieved through dynamic human resources, and continuously updated strategy. We have recently installed state -of the- art brewery eauipment with a capacity to produce 1.5 million hectolitre. This is part of our vision to face the future challenges”

According to Mr. Felix Aighobahi, General Manager, Sales, Sona Breweries, The objective of the promo is to connect the brand with the consumers and reward loyal consumers across the country.

He said, “We are grateful to all our customers who have embraced this new product with consistent patronage.”
He further announced that various items such as generator sets, LCD television, fridges, DVD Players, among others, would be won through a raffle draw during the promo, while over 2 million free drinks and other items would also be instantly won.
