Anambra 2010: PPA pacifies aspirants

The Progressive Peoples’ Alliance (PPA)  has advised its aspirants not to resort to blackmail, as their choice to run on the party’s platform which failed to materialise was not the end of the road.

“First and foremost, you must be a good party man through self discipline and respect for common good of the party”, said the National Chairman, Mr. Larry Esin, in a statement by the National Publicity Secretary, Chief Ben Onyechere.
“The Progressive Peoples Alliance wishes to state categorically that its primaries, from reactions of the majority, is the freest and most transparent in Anambra State as nothing could be compared since no other party held primaries in the state.

“The party, which will come out victorious from all indications in the governorship election, is also appealing to the aspirants not to sacrifice the impending victory on the alter of ego as all party members cannot be governors at the same time.

“The most important thing at this point in time is to focus on the main election since Anambra people have now decided that they want a woman as their Governor, since none of the people could bring change particularly with the rate of unemployment and violent crimes which have remained the worst in the last ten years in the whole nation.”

According to the PPA Chairman,“it’s unfortunate that the typical Nigerian politician has been smitten by the PDP philosophy of rigging, to the extent that they do not believe that elections can be free and fair. It’s, therefore, a burden that the PPA must carry as it continues its crusade for free and fair elections in Nigeria.”
