Aderemi, S’Court justice retires at 70

ABUJA—A valedictory session was yesterday held at the Supreme Court Abuja, in honor of Justice Pius Olayiwola Aderemi (CON), who in accordance with the provisions of section 291 (1) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, retired from the Supreme Court and the Federal Judiciary at the mandatory 70 years of active service.

Delivering his speech at the event which attracted the crème de la crème of the legal profession in Nigeria yesterday to pay tribute to the retiring Justice Adeyemi, the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Idris Legbo Kutigi described him as a legal luminary, whose ability for distinct analysis of the facts of cases, capacity in identifying the legal principles that were germane to conflict resolutions, made him an invaluable asset to the Supreme Court throughout his tenure as one of its Judges.
