UGHELLI—THE Member representing Ughelli South local government constituency in Delta State House of Assembly, Olorogun Taleb Tebite, has commended the state governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, for the purchase of 100 buses for intra-city transport in the state.

Tebite, who made the commendation while speaking to Vanguard on telephone, said the initiative has helped to ease the problems of intra-city movement, particularly in major towns and cities of the state.

According to him, the people of Delta State are now enjoying good intra-city transport system in the state.

He urged Governor Uduaghan to extend the gesture to Ughelli South local government area of the state.

Tebite said the buses, if extended to the area, could shuttle some major towns in the area, including Otu–Jeremi, Okwagbe, Okpare, Oginibo, Ewu, Ekakpamre, Ovwor and Okparabe, among others.

He pointed out that two buses could shuttle Ekakpamre/Otu–Jeremi, Oginibo/Okwagbe and a bus for Ughelli/Ovwor/Okpare/Otu-Jeremi, adding that another could shuttle Ughelli/Ewu/Okparabe/Oviri-Olomu/Umolo down to Otu-Jeremi.

Tebite said as an area endowed with agricultural resources, the gesture would facilitate the transportation of their agricultural produce to other parts of the state.

He, however, thanked the governor for putting one of the buses to shuttle Ughelli/Okpare and charged the people of the constituency to continue to support the Uduaghan/Utuama administration.

The legislator said the present administration, which is taking a cue from the immediate past administration of Chief James Onenefe Ibori, would deliver on its mandate.
