Ogbulafor scores PDP Govs high on performance

Abuja – The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Vincent Ogbulafor said yesterday that most of the incumbent governors are better focused with defined agenda than their predecessors in meeting the developmental needs of their people.

Also applauding governors elected on the platform of the PDP, the national leadership described their activities and performance as quite impressive and encouraging.

Speaking yesterday when members of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP received students of Course 31 of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, PDP National Chairman, Prince Vincent Ogbulafor who noted that the NWC members have gone round the country to inspect and commission projects executed by PDP governors, stressed that their efforts will go a long way in the realization of President Umaru Yar’Adua’s Seven Points Agenda.

“We are very happy with our Governors because they are performing. The party has commissioned projects in various states of the federation and we are indeed encouraged.“Most of you from different states will agree that the crop of Governors we have now are development oriented tilted towards Mr. President’s Seven Points agenda.”

The National Chairman who unfolded to the visiting students the series of interactive sessions between the NWC and the ministers, however commended the ministers for performing, just as he stressed that the report of the interactive sessions would be forwarded to President Yar’Adua.

Ogbulafor who stressed that the President approved the interactive sessions with the Ministers of their stewardship, said, “the party is in control of the Ministers and we are compiling our report that we will present to Mr. President, what we think and where there are lapses to correct it and for implementation.”

On the relationship between the party, the Executive and the National Assembly, Ogbulafor said: “We have a very perfect relationship with the National Assembly members and we’ve been encouraged to keep it the way it is so that Mr. President’s Bills to National Assembly are not unnecessarily delayed.
