OWERRI—Sympathizers broke down in tears as the remains of 38-year old Aghaegbula Emenike, who was recently kidnapped and killed, was buried in his ancestral home in Umulebe Ofeke, Osina, Ideato North Local Government Area of Imo State.

It would be recalled that two armed men kidnapped Emenike, a Port Harcourt based businessman on June 28, 2009, at Afor Osina market, where he had gone to make some purchases before returning to his base.

It was also gathered that an agreed ransom was paid by the family. Late Emenike’s associates wondered why his abductors still went ahead to murder him, even after the ransom had been paid.

His body was found in the boot of his Toyota Camry car along Umueze 1, Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State.

The father of the late businessman, Sir Eric Emenike, could not to speak on the sad incident, when Vanguard visited the family home of the deceased, as he was still in grief.
