Ribadu must face trial—Tribunal

ABUJA—The Code of Conduct Tribunal sitting in Abuja yesterday insisted that the pioneer Chairman of EFCC, Malam Nuhu Ribadu, has a case to answer on alleged failure to declare his assets while in office.

The tribunal declared this yesterday after it dismissed the objection raised by Ribadu through his counsel, Femi Falana, to the effect that the case against him was incompetent since he (Ribadu) was not properly served.

But the tribunal yesterday declined an invitation by the prosecution counsel, Ahmed Kyari, to push for a bench warrant against Ribadu to compel his attendance in court at the next adjourned date.

Tribunal Chairman, Justice Constance Momoh, however, warned that it might be forced to issue a bench warrant against Ribadu if he failed to appear to answer charges against him at the next sitting.
