Enugu Assembly clears two commissioner designate

Enugu—The Enugu State House of Assembly yesterday cleared two Commissioners designate, describing them as fit to be appointed into the state’s executive council.

The two Commissioners designate are Dr Uche Uzochukwu, a medical practitioner who was a former Chairman of the Anike Development Centre and the immediate past Head of Service in the state’s civil service, Mr Albert Edoga.

Moving the motion for their confirmation, the Leader of the House, Chief Johnny Obidinma, recalled that their confirmation was deferred because of their non-compliance with certain relevant constitutional provisions, which he noted, they had now satisfied.

Chief Mike Onyeze (Igboeze North), seconded the motion while Emma Mmaduabum (Enugu South), noted that it was proper to clear the Commissioners as they had creditably served the state in different capacities.

Chris Ugwu (Enugu East 11) said, “going by their wealth of experience, age and curriculum vitae, I have no doubt that the state will benefit a lot from them, so they should be cleared’’.
