MAKURDI — Benue State Commissioner for Information and Culture, Mrs. Ntol Adoga Unongo, has disclosed that the 40th edition of National Council on Information and Communication has been slated for Makurdi in the week with N30 million earmarked for that purpose.
According to the Commissioner, the State Executive Council has already directed the release of N15 million of the N30 million requested for the successful hosting of the meeting.
Unongo informed that a powerful retinue of information and communications experts would be led to the three-day council meeting by the Minister for Information and Communication, Prof. Dora Akunyili.
She said: “The Minister of Information will lead a powerful retinue which includes the federal Permanent Secretary, staff of the Federal Ministry of Information and Communication as well as the Directors General of NTA, FRCN, BON, NBC and the NCC.â€
The Commissioner further disclosed that the meeting would be graced by leaders of private media organisations as well as commissioners and permanent secretaries of state ministries of information.
