Students of Olaitan Zion College, Offa, Kwara State recently emerged the overall winner of the 14th edition of National Secondary School Bible Quiz competition, an annual programme of the Bible Society of Nigeria BSN in Lagos.
The competition, which had participants drawn from the six geo-political zones recorded over 100 participants at the zonal levels, while six schools qualified for the final.
The winning students, 16-year-old Juliet Udoye and 15-year-old Favour Mustapha, defeated their counterparts from five other schools to come tops with a total of 170 points at the end of the competition. while students of First Baptist Academy, Port-Harcourt, Rivers State emerged second and Mary Summer Juniorate, Okpofe, Imo State was in the third position.
Speaking to newsmen, General Secretary, BSN, Rev. Dare Ajiboye, challenged the students to live exemplary lives adding that no one should be allowed to despise their youth.
“I will tell the young ones not to allow anyone despised their youth, they should live right even though things are not right in the country as we all know, this is the time to depend more on God, live Godly life, abstain from sin.
In his key note address, the chairman of the occasion, Mr. Timileyin Tairu urged the young students to make positive impact wherever they find themselves.
