Odubu-Oshiomhole

The prospect of the crisis between Governor Adams Oshiomhole and his deputy, Pius Odubu worsening the chances of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming election is bringing concern to leading stakeholders in the party.

The crisis is being compounded with alleged plans to suspend the Edo South leader of the party, Gentleman Amengor, and Mr. Matthew Ehigie, APC chairman, Orhiomwom Local Government Area, against the decision of the state executive of the party.

Amengor has been alleged by those close to the governor to be supporting Odubu against the governor’s alleged preference for Mr. Godwin Obaseki in the party primaries.

Party insiders assert that suspending or expelling the two men would inevitably open the underbelly of the party in the Edo South and cause incalculable damage to the chances of the party winning the election.
