Port Harcourt  – Former national U-20 Coach, John Obuh, on Monday urged the Golden Eaglets to remain focused and avoid distractions in their bid to retain the FIFA U-17 World Cup.

Obuh, the Technical Adviser of Ifeanyi Ubah FC, said on phone from Ibadan that the team`s victory over Brazil was well deserved.

He urged the Eaglets to take every match as they come and avoid distractions.

“ I commend coach Emmanuel Amuneke for doing a good job, especially for rejuvenating the team after the loss to Croatia.

“ At this stage, the coach should ensure that his team is calm; ensure that no unnecessary influence distracts them.

“ Amuneke should also tell the players to remain focused and make sure they tidy up very well. They should always believe that they have not won any game yet.”

Obuh, also a former national U-17 coach, said Amuneke was guiding the team very well because they had played to his instructions.

“ From the way things are going, i see the team going beyond semi-final. They have the potential to do well and I wish them the very best in this tournament,“ he said.
