Governor of Kogi State, Capt Idris   Wada has promised to provide more social amenities if re-elected.

Addressing party supporters in Ajaka, the governor said the 12 years of PDP leadership in the state have transformed Kogi into one of the most developed states in the federation, saying his administration will continue with such trend.

“I do not expect the opposition to hail what we have achieved. They want to win an election. That is why they kept saying we have done nothing. I won’t say that previous governments did nothing. But we have built on what they did and will place Kogi on the map of development.

“We have built roads, hospitals, schools and many construction works are ongoing at the moment. The magnificent Kogi House in Abuja is close to completion. That architectural landmark will be a pride to Nigeria. We have completed the Greater Lokoja Waterworks and we are currently redeveloping the Kogi Hotels. When we complete all our projects in Lokoja which include an ultra modern park, township roads, housing estates and many others, Kogites will see what we have used their resources to achieve.

“One of my biggest achievements is the Kogi State University Teaching Hospital. It will be a massive benefit to the people of Kogi State. Let me also inform the people of Kogi who are my bosses, that our Diagnostic Centre will soon be completed. We have also ordered for medical equipment for the recently upgraded Specialist Hospitals in Obangede and Kabba. They deserve to have the best of medical facilities. To the youths, YAD4KOGI has been able to create jobs. But with our massive industrial revolution going on, we expect more jobs to be created. I am not only committed to your education, I want to create jobs for you and we have started that already.

“I am your servant and I have done the work I promised to do in 2012. I have managed the commonwealth of Kogi with a very high sense of responsibility, fairness and probity. We have invested in the future of the state. We have paid our workers regularly and appreciate the challenges Local Government Areas are facing in paying their workers. The expected bailout will be used to clear the backlog.”
