Bode George

LAGOS—Former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Olabode George yesterday urged the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to have a contingency plan in case the card reader for the 2015 general elections failed.
George, who said that there was need for a back up plan in case the readers failed noted that “it is brilliant to come up with the card reader. But INEC must come up with two, three or four systems per polling unit as back up instead of saying people will vote the next day in areas where it failed.”
He argued that “there are millions of polling units across the nation which means millions of untested card readers for the Permanent Voters Cards, PVCs. Asking people to come back the second day may lead to chaos.”
Gani Adams kicks
Meantime, the National Coordinator Oodua People’s Congress, OPC, Otunba Gani Adams has kicked against the use of the card reader for the 2015 general elections saying it is aimed at confusing voters and disenfranchising voters.
He, however, assured Nigerians living in the United States of America, USA, that the forthcoming elections will be peaceful and violence free.
