Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Rivers State has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to declare Governor Nyesom Wike as duly re-elected for a second term.

The Rivers state All Progressives Congress, APC, has urged the public to disregard what it described as lies told by the Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike against the Nigerian army. The APC in the state said Wike told lies by alleging that the Nigerian military interfered in the elections that took place in the state.

The Abuja Division of the Federal High Court, on Friday, declined to disqualify Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State from participating in Saturday’s governorship election, following allegation that he tendered forged documents to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC. 

Barely twenty four hours to the Governorship and State House of Assembly elections in Rivers State, former Governor of the State and Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi has called on the people of Rivers State not to cast their vote for Governor Nyesom Wike, as he accused the governor of sponsoring several troubles in the State, an indication that he (Wike) does not care about the security of their lives.
