Hundreds of protesters, under the aegis of ‘The Natives’, yesterday took to the streets of Abuja, the nation’s capital, in defence of the outcome of the 2023 general election, warning opposition elements against canvassing the imposition of an Interim National Government, ING, on the country.

“I just came across a sad, heartbreaking video where Nasarawa women staged a topless protest as a means of registering their displeasure with the election results.”

The Presidential Election Petition Court, PEPC, sitting in Abuja, on Friday, ordered that the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, should be served with copies of petitions seeking to nullify his election, through substituted means.

Minister of State, Labour and Employment, Mr Festus Keyamo, SAN, has petitioned the Department of State Service, DSS, demanding the arrest and prosecution for “incitement and treasonable felony”, the Labour Party, LP Presidential and Vice Presidential Candidates, Mr Peter Obi and Senator Datti Baba-Ahmed, respectively, for comments he described as incendiary and capable of causing rebellion.

The Presidential Campaign Council of the Labour Party has dismissed the petition filed by Festus Keyamo,  a Spokesman for the President-Elect, Ahmed Tinubu, calling for the arrest of the LP Presidential candidate, Peter Obi and his running mate, Dr Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, over alleged treasonable felony as a desperate attempt to gain political relevance.

“I take exception to Peter Obi’s comments that I came out against him. People are not being sincere, people are not appreciative,” he stated.

“Peter Obi of Labour Party seeks the annulment of the election of President-elect Bola Tinubu just like the military annulled MKO Abiola’s election of 12 June 1993.”

The Labour Party, LP, and its candidate, Mr Peter Obi, have formally lodged a petition to nullify the declaration of Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, as the winner of the presidential election that was held on February 25.
