EBONYI State government, yesterday, said 14 persons died of Lassa fever disease, while 83 suspected cases were recorded since the outbreak in January.

Lassa fever has claimed 14 lives in Taraba from January to date, an official has said.

THE Lagos State Government, yesterday, disclosed that there is no new case of Lassa fever recorded in the state.

THE Federal Government is convening an Emergency National Council on Health meeting tomorrow to discuss the on-going Lassa fever outbreak in the country.

Following the fear of the outbreak of Lassa fever in Lagos, the state government, yesterday, placed 25 health workers and 15 patients under surveillance.

The Commissioner for Health in Rivers, Dr Theophilus Odagme, has confirmed that three persons have died, while more than 200 others are currently under observation, following the outbreak of Lassa Fever in the state.

One person has died from Lassa Fever in Nigeria’s capital, Abuja, taking deaths from the virus countrywide to 43, the health minister said on Wednesday.
