IBD Dende was seen in a video, which has now gone viral, allegedly threatening to attack an Assistant Superintendent of Customs (ASC) who intercepted his smuggled goods.

There was chaos and confusion on Friday at the Nigeria Customs Office in Yaba when what was supposed to be a gesture of assistance from the government, the distribution of 25kg bags of rice, turned into an unpleasant scene, leaving many citizens frustrated and struggling.

Nigeria Nigeria Customs Service says it is determined to intensify efforts to curtail the menace of illegal exportation of Nigeria’s grains to other African countries to ensure adequate food security for citizens.

“This commitment is deeply rooted in the NCS’s core mandate of serving the best interests of the Nigerian people, thereby fostering economic stability and prosperity.”

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Kano Area Command, says it has intercepted four trucks of food items as part of efforts to tackle smuggling.

The Nigeria Customs Service, Federal Operations Unit, Zone B Kaduna said it impounded a consignment of expired milk and juice powder among other items seized by its operatives between January and February 16, 2024; in keeping with the service’s mandate of protecting the national security and safety.

The Nigerian Customs Service, Sector 4 joint border patrol, has seized a consignment of drugs along the Kajiji-Sokoto road, with a duty-paid value of N19.6 million.

He said the TRS is aimed at improving port efficiency and competitiveness by identifying and eliminating obstacles in port operations.

“This increase will definitely affect every area of our economic life, already; we recorded a drop in the volume of import last year, so you imagine what will happen with this increment.”
