Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project, SERAP, has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to stop the monitoring of Nigerians on social media.
In an open letter, SERAP asked the President to use his good offices and leadership position to instruct the military authorities to immediately end any monitoring of activities of Nigerians on the social media, and to ensure that military operations comply with Nigerian Constitution 1999 (as amended) and the country’s obligations under international human rights law.

Senior Special Assistant to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan on Public Affairs, Dr. Doyin Okupe has advised the federal government against the use of force in resolving the various agitations in some parts of the country but rather that the President should initiate a process of addressing those grievances in a peaceful manner.

May God grant our President the strength to navigate the ship of the state to safe harbor by 2019. May his health be fully restored and may he govern with the sense of a pan-Nigerian leader that he was elected to be. Like he promised in his address, he should go about reversing the trend of ‘Born to Rule’
