The National Youth Council of Nigeria, Kogi State chapter, has called on both the Nigeria Army and the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, to thread with caution to avoid war.

I WOKE up this Thursday morning, and after my usual morning devotion, I consulted my Internet-enabled gadget as is now customary with most people. I was confronted by two very unfortunate fallout of the Nigerian Army’s Operation Python Dance II which is ongoing in the South East.

Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia has expressed gratitude to God for averting bloodbath in the state, following the withdrawal of troops deployed to Abia for a one-month military exercise code-named “Operation Python Dance.”

Biafra was justice and freedom. But Biafra has become a tool for charlatans, a toy for dissipation of youthful exuberance. Biafra once evoked Igbo unity and enterprise. But Biafra has now been appropriated by jobless opportunists who exploit the frustrations of their poor brothers. Biafra was Igbo fellowship. But this their  new Biafra  thrives on  cannibalizing  fellow Igbos. Biafra was consultation, consensus. This Biafra is now  extremism, hallucination, egocentrism. 

The Nigeria Army has assured residents of the South East and Cross River State that troops involved in the ongoing military exercise will abide by rules of engagement.
