Hearing in the bail application has been fixed today. ‘Tokyo’’, along with four co-accused, has been incarcerated since June 9 and is facing a seven-count charge of murder, attempted murder and illegal possession of arms before an Ibadan Chief Magistrate’s Court. His co-accused, who have also gone to the High Court to seek bail, are Kasim Adelumuyi, alias Wonder, 40; Rasheed Oladele, 59; Taiwo Olapade, 50 and Musa Adeleke, alias Alubankudi, 45.

The House of Assembly members have invited the Finance Commissioner Wale Akinterinwa, the Information Commissioner and others to explain the report that the last administration operated a secret account. While Akerele had appeared before the lawmakers, Akinterinwa had not appeared despite the grace given to him by the lawmakers.

THE immediate past governor of Ondo State, Dr Olusegun Agagu and the Peoples Democratic Party PDP in the state yesterday picked holes in the report of the Contract Review Committee which indicted the former governor over the 1,400 contracts awarded by his administration in the last six years.

Each of the 17 councils was supposed to pay certain amount of money as counter part fund in the collaborative programme on immunization. But the councils, it was learnt had refused to pay, which was why the state government had not released the vehicles to them.

Coordinator of the group, Mr. Nnonyelu Offoma in a statement in Awka, Anambra state yesterday, said it should be borne in mind that the Vice President was chosen for the office because it was expected that he would use the position to resolve the crisis in the region.
