THERE appears to be a bright side to the 1914 amalgamation of Nigeria by the British after all. While the motives of the architects may seem questionable to some, the undeniable truth is that there had to be a meeting point of the major cultures eventually- the Mohameddans, the South-Easterners and the West.

Finding a job can be difficult. While looking through newspapers and asking’ highly placed family members for referrals did the ‘magic’ easily in the past, it is has become harder today with more people competing to land the jobs available.

ONE of the major challenges facing us as a nation is the lack of authentic history. Just like in a war situation, it is the one that emerges victorious that tells the story, everyone tells his story from his own perspective. Our allocation of resources have been so skewed in favour of the centre, that historical records are being distorted, to give ethnic groups advantage. No ethnic group or region is left out, everyone wants to take control of the centre to confer economic advantage to self and ethnic interest. That is why the national conference must tackle the issue of regional and states autonomy very seriously. So there will be no need to falsify history and records to secure undue advantage at the federal level

BEFORE our very eyes, history is being made with the emerging industrial revolution in the country. While some pessimists are still looking in the future for Nigeria’s version of industrial revolution, most discerning and visionary minds know that with the first made-in-Nigeria vehicles by Innoson Group already on our roads, the stage is set for the expected sudden leap in industrial activities.

LET’S think hypothetically for just a minute. What should we expect if Rev. Chris Okotie of the FRESH Party, becomes President and Commander-in-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria? The same old display of inept and un-creative governance, or a departure from the status quo to world class ideologies that shape the times, and brings international discussants to ‘study’ the new and emerging Nigerian governance model? Other options that have been mentioned, who fit into this hypothesis include Governors Adams Oshiomhole and Raji Fashola, Mallam El-Rufai and Nuhu Ribadu, etc.
