Buhari, Fayose, Ugwuanyi, and this horrid life
VEXED voices have, in exasperation, been asking where Reverend Father Ejike Camillus Mbaka is. They are absolutely right who expect the priest to speak up. People should ask where Bola Tinubu is, the one who covets the feat of unknotting Pandora’s Box. People should be asking where many other previously vocal Nigerians are.
Edo 2016 and the Obaseki agenda
AS the current administration winds down in Edo state, the people are beside themselves, singing “thank you” to the governor, Comrade Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole, for a job well done. For obvious reasons, the only exception are members of the opposition who seem to see nothing good in all the amazing developing witnessed across every nook and cranny since its inception in 2009.
Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Fulani Herdsmen and the Return of Neighbourhood Watch
In my earlier article titled “Fulani Herdsmen: Mr Buhari, Please, Keep Your Sympathies”, I had criticized the governor of Enugu State thus: “…what was all that smile about from the governor of Enugu State,
The memo Akenzua did on Aburi
WHEN on March 15 last year, the Secretary of the Benin traditional council, Mr. Frank Irabor announced that “the leopard is ill in the Savannah bush”, we knew exactly what has happened to the OmoN’oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo Erediauwa (CFR), the 38th Oba of Benin, who was born on June 22, 1923 and ascended the throne on March 23, 1979. Well to an average Benin man or woman, such an announcement is well understood.
Fulani Herdsmen: An Interesting Conversation With An Old Friend
The following discussion took place on my Facebook friends page on May 2nd 2016. Since it is already in the public realm I have taken the liberty of.sharing it in my column as well.
Mind your religion, leave others alone
GOING through Douglas Anele’s piece: ‘An unbeliever’s interpretation of Easter’ in the Sunday Vanguard of April 10 2016,one is left with one conclusion and that is; Christianity is truly a religion of peace, instead he would by now be hiding in a hole, shielding himself from the fatwa sentence that surely would have befallen him. Luckily for him, he knows the court to play his game because he cannot try it with every religion.
If PDP adopts option A4
CHIEF Olisa Metuh on Friday April 16th informed Nigerians that the Peoples Democratic Party,PDP, will be adopting this option in the selection of its candidates for the 2019 general election. He said the party has recognised that there is need to end its inglorious past of imposition of candidates by allowing members of the party to directly participate in the selection of its candidates.
Ikpeazu’s new urban cities
IN Governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s Abia State, there are cities, like a retarded child, that have refused to grow. They are not like the imbecile with a wobbling brain and cognition, or like the diminutive pigmies of Congo condemned to a life of the dwarfed, they are just simply stunted and scrawny in development.
A Boiling Southern Cauldron and The Insults Of The Northern Governors
Last week I wrote an essay titled ‘The Road To Kigali’ which was widely published.
The callous response of the northern governors to the horrendous events in Enugu has compelled me to write this contribution as something of a follow-up.
The Road To Kigali
In 1994 almost one million Tutsis were murdered in cold blood in the space of one month by members of the ruling Hutu tribe in Kigali, Rwanda.
