Christmas season will never be the same again in Anambra State. Sally Mbanefo, Anambra State’s very resourceful Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs, Indigenous Artworks, Culture and Tourism has in the works an unprecedented Anambra Homecoming Festival that will put at full play cultural exhibitions, musical extravaganza, theatre displays, avant-garde carnival, poetry renditions, palm-wine-tasting etc.

Ibrahim Babangida, faced with the challenge of communicating and convincing the Nigerian public of the benefits of his economic policies which were tied to the IMF dictates, appointed an acquitted journalist, Prince Tony Momoh, his Information Minister.

PERMIT me to renew or share with you some didactic, relevant literary experience availed the world by the duo of Ghana’s Ayi Kwei Armah and Nigeria’s Chinua Achebe, both writers of indomitable renown. We resorted to Armah because of the similarity in the political history of the two countries being former British colonies. A constant reminder of this tie today perhaps is the Nkrumah Award for Good Governance which contemporary Nigerian politicians are always excited to be honoured with. 

NEVER  in the recent history of any  people have their prospects of been  so bleak and in dire straits as what stares the hard working people of Imo state in the face right now, starting from the debacle of Mr. Rochas Okorocha’s near eight year comic rule to the prospects of extending the governance nightmare to another four years.
