With the successful completion of the presidential and national assembly elections, the stage is now set for the governorship and state assembly polls, where the Enugu State governor and gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi is poised to clinch a landslide victory. 

This enviable performance was equally given impetus by the entrepreneurial spirit of founder Benedict Peters, who amidst collapsing oil prices, remained determined to demonstrate the tenacity of Nigerian entrepreneurship. Benedict Peters is one dogged entrepreneur who has also risen above a shadow of controversies to prove himself as an African business leader.

Twice on Wednesday, President Muhammadu Buhari displayed an uncommon generosity of spirit. We had set forth at dawn, shortly before 5 a.m, to visit the presidential campaign office in Central Area of Abuja. The purpose was for the President to read his victory speech, having been pronounced winner of the February 23 election by Professor Mahmood Yakubu, Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

“These were not the elections Nigerians wanted; they were not the elections Nigerians expected; and, most importantly, they were not the elections Nigerians deserved. Our election commission must improve its capacity to deliver credible elections and our political parties must play according to the rules. Failure to do so could fundamentally threaten our democracy”

JIMI Agbaje, the PDP gubernatorial candidate for Lagos State recently declared his desire to make Lagos State the second largest economy in Africa by 2029.
