The ready assumption by some writers and public commentators is that most Nigerians are gullible and have short memories. As such, some of these self acclaimed political analysts churn out falsehood as facts in an attempt to manipulate the mind of well meaning Nigerians.

We read the comments of Mr. Femi Aribisala, analysing the actions and pronouncements on the issue of tithing and most especially on the Kaduna state Governor Alhaji Nasir El-Rufai as contained in his column in the Vanguard Newspaper of Sunday 10th December and we must say that we were  quite disappointed that a respected columnist with the pedigree of Mr. Aribisala, would offer such pedestrian and simplistic analogy on a matter which ordinarily shouldn’t engage his intellectual attention.

MY perception about the future of this country took a drastic turnaround after watching and listening to the former governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi on Channels Television appearances in October of 2016 and May of 2017. Those intelligence-parked speeches based on very practical analysis, particularly as it concerns cutting costs of governance, permeated into the marrows of every Nigerian adult. Obi told us very clearly that all our travails as a nation were and are still being created by us – Nigerians.
