Former South Africa World Cup Coach, Jomo Sono, is to be conferred with Honorary Doctorate Awards by two leading Universities, namely the University of London and the University of Dubai, on Thursday, 15th December, 2016.

The Senate Committee on Sports on Wednesday in Abuja assured the Super Falcons of payment of their outstanding allowances.

Angered by the embarrassments the non payment of Super Falcons’ allowances had caused them, the presidency on Wednesday summoned the officials of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF and the Ministry of Sports to a meeting.

Following a Wednesday morning protest by members of the female football national team at the National Assembly over non-payment of their allowances by the NFF, the presidency has promised to clear all allowances by Friday.

The Minister of State for Education, Prof. Anthony Anwukah, has said that the Federal Government would set-up sports clubs in schools in the country to catch-them-young with school-based grassroots sporting activities.
