BARELY 48 hours after deposing two traditional rulers for allegedly aiding and abetting kidnapping in the state, Abia state Government has banned motorcyclists, popularly known as Okada from operating in certain areas of the state.

Barely 48 hrs after President Umaru Yar’Adua proclamation of amnesty to militants in the Niger Delta now fewer than four militant commanders in Bayelsa State have openly renounced armed struggle to embrace the presidential gesture with Commander Joshua Maciver describing the move as a good omen for the troubled region.

PORT HARCOURT: A MILITANT leader Mr Solomon Ndigbara aka Osama Bin Laden Friday night surrendered his arms to the federal government as an indication of his acceptance of the amnesty to militants in the region by the government.
