A mild drama unfolded itself at New Evolution Hospital, in Ago area of Lagos, where 36-year-old Mercy Nnadi, whose one year-old son was killed by her husband, who also burnt her with hot pressing iron, over allegation that she was having a clandestine relationship with her father in-law, last Friday.

Palpable fear of possible strike from the dreaded terrorists has gripped many tertiary institutions in the Northern part of the country following recent terrorist attacks on some institutions. First was at the Gombe State University before last Sunday’s attack on worshippers at the Old Campus of Bayero University, Kano where scores of innocent people were either sent to grave prematurely or were injured. Where next? is the question on the lips of many and students say they are enveloped by fear of any eventuality.

Were it not for the timing and ultimately, the Grace of God, Gombe state would have, last week, been thrown into unusual mourning following the explosion that rocked the State owned University. The day was Thursday, April 26, 2012. The time was about 8: 30 pm and the staff and workers at the administrative building of the University had closed and left office when the men of underworld struck.
