About 400 public primary school teachers from different parts of the country have received training in literacy skills, numeracy skills and early childhood development.

DELIBERATIONS among delegates from all the states of the federation, who attended the just concluded convocation of Network of Educational Services Centres in Nigeria (NESCN) and the resuscitated National Festival of Instructional Materials (NAFIM) at Abuja, centred around the entrenchment of best practices in standards and quality assurance, which is one of the focal points of the Roadmap for Nigerian education sector.

Once again, the country’s attention has been drawn to the declining interest in reading exhibited by children which has become a challenge that must be taken seriously by institutional heads, teachers, parents and communities at large.

The Executive Chairman, State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Mrs.Gbolahan Khadijat Daodu has called on all and sundry who love education and the future of the Nigerian children to rise up and emulate the good gesture of Amazing Edu-care Foundation, a non governmental organisation who recently presented one thousand uniforms to the pupils of Ajeromi/ Ifelodun Local Government Area.

Ibidapo-Obe recalled that the world leaders in year 2000 came up with the eight (8) Millennium Development Goals (MDGS) out of which seven (7) depend on the need for well organised and qualitative education.
