When a situation gets out of hand, different measures could be devised to bring such situation under control. And nothing could be spared and no one overlooked in ensuring that positive solutions are found.

For Justin Nwankwo, a doctoral student of philosophy at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State, what he went through inside the cell at the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), Awka in Anambra State, two years ago, is better imagined than experienced. Life has seemingly become hell for residents of Ijaiye Community in Ifako-Ijaye Local Government Area of Lagos following incessant attacks by men of the underworld. Business activities have also grounded to a halt in the area as a result of the activities of these criminals who terrorize and rob them.

“But the identities of the policemen who carried out the illegal and criminal operation are still being shielded by the authorities at Okigwe Division. “From the foregoing narrative, it is very clear that if the victim had died, it would have been very easy for the police to cover up or label him an armed robber or kidnapper.

At the end of each operation, I was paid N40,000. I kept weapons for four different robbery gangs. The police only recovered an AK 47 riffle with three magazines and a Baretta pistol from me. The weapons belong to a particular gang”, he said. Spokesman for the Ogun State Police Command, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said the police was still on the trail of other fleeing members of the gang, assuring that they would get them.
