THE spate of rampant rape and defilement of young girls in Anambra State is now giving many parents and guardians cause for concern. From one community to the other, there has been incessant cases of rape, defilement and de-flowering of young girls most of whom were teenagers and even minors.

There was pandemonium in the Coal City, Enugu, weekend, during a bloody clash between soldiers and the police which took place at Ibagwa-Nike area of the town leaving a yet-to-be identified person dead.

THERE was pandemonium in Makurdi, the Benue State capital, midweek, when four dare-devil, heavily armed robbers laid siege on the ever-busy Ishaya Bakut road, less than 500 meters from the ‘B’ Division Police station in the heart of the town. FOR years, the office of the Federal Anti-Robbery Squad, FedSARS, Adeniji-Adele, Lagos, situated very close to Isale Gangan in Lagos Island, was highly dreaded by both criminals and passersby.

In the case of Madam 1,000, what we saw could shatter the strongest of hearts. It was a case of man’s inhumanity to man! This type of inhumanity is special in the sense that the victims of the inhumanity are innocent babies, totally defenceless human beings. THE Divisional Police Officer[DPO],Asokoro Police Station, Mr Nnanna Amah, is in the news again. This time, he is being alleged to be involved in the harassment of the leader of the Nigerian Merchant Navy, Comrade Allen B. Edema, who has petitioned the Inspector General of Police, alleging attempts on his life, by the DPO.

ONITSHA – Men of the Directorate of State Services, DSS in Anambra State have arrested a middle-aged man for allegedly raping and deflowering a 23-year-old secondary school girl in Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State.
