The NLC was led by its President, Mr. Umar Abdulwaheed.

Sustainable Research Action for Environmental Development, SRADev Nigeria, an environmental non-governmental organisation, NGO championing the campaign to eliminate lead in paints making under the auspices of the International POPs Elimination Network, IPEN, last week called on the federal government to urgently enact mandatory national regulations for limiting lead concentrations in paints. The group also canvassed immediate efforts by the government to eliminate lead in paints as it was done in petrol phase out.
