Ahead of tomorrow’s rescheduled Presidential and National Assembly elections, the Federal Government has ordered the closure of all borders by noon today, as the Nigerian Police will deploy all its 350,000 personnel and assets.

THE Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal, yesterday, cleared the coast for the Federal Government to open its case against suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Justice Walter Onnoghen, at the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT.

THE National Judicial Council, NJC, yesterday waded into the crisis rocking the judiciary, by directing suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN,  Justice Walter Onnoghen, to respond to corruption allegations against him within seven working days.

AHEAD of today’s meeting of the National Judicial Council, NJC, to deliberate on the boiling crisis in the Judiciary, security within the premises of the Supreme Court was beefed up, yesterday, especially around the office of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN.

The National Judicial Council, NJC, and the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, have convened emergency meetings to hold tomorrow over the brewing constitutional crisis in the country, following the suspension of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Justice Walter Onnoghen by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Buhari hinged his decision to suspend the CJN on a CCT order but the action immediately generated an uproar  on the grounds that the President has no power to remove the CJN without recourse to the Senate.
