US President Donald Trump blamed aspirin for large bruises on his hand and denied falling asleep while attending public meetings in an interview with The Wall Street Journal published Thursday.

But Russia has called it a “terrorist attack” and a “personal attack” against Putin, saying it will toughen its negotiation stance in Ukraine war talks.

It voiced its “regret” that the United States had made “such an important decision without the slightest prior consultation”.

Zelensky’s office said a meeting with Trump is “planned” for Sunday in Florida, where the US leader has a home.
