Re: Your kids: Who can you trust them w ith?
WOMEN got much flak in some readers’ response to the write-up with the above title. They felt that women don’t take enough time to scrutinize the men they have a relationship with, but rather, they are dazzled by good looks, money and positions, and they rush into the relationship or marriage, only to discover that the man’s not all they thought him to be.
Re: Crushing the poor in Nigeria
IT is said that ‘Health Is Wealth’. Any write-up on health issues always generates a lot of interest, especially in the developing world where we’re still trying to find our feet in health matters. Our article on the raised fees recently at the University of Ibadan Teaching Hospital raised the anger of quite a few readers against the government.
Help that can hurt a union

Elderly Persons’Bill
OLD age touches us all, for, if we’re not yet of that range, we have parents, grandparents, and relatives who are. So, old age should be of some concern to everyone. I was glad to receive a few responses from young people, among the many I got, understandably, from the middle-aged and the elderly.
Crushing the poor in Nigeria

Sex of your child: Does it matter?
Madam, I don’t care what sex of children my wife and I produce,†said a colleague. “Our major concern before we got married was that the Lord should give us healthy kids, and the where withal to cater for them properly. In His wisdom, He gave us three girls first and then a boy.
Road officials and the governor’s good works
IT was the evening rush-back-home hour on the Oshodi/Apapa express way, with passengers waiting anxiously for transport. Lagos State road officials were very visible on the road as they usually are at rush hour in those parts.
Re: Elections in Nigeria – a disgrace
There are so many advisers on every subject under the sun, and yet things are not working in the country. When people have cheated and battled their way to be declared winner at the polls, they forget fast what they’re supposed to be doing in that position. Why? They’re so busy chasing contracts and lining their pockets.
