Ending militarism in the home

Ending militarism in the home

As men, we own the house with its entire property, including our wives. If women shouldn’t be our properties then why are we asked to pay so much to take them from their parents? Beating your wife is not violence, so, the world should stop putting it that way. Women ask for too much and sometimes have to be dealt with to be called to order! My wife is my property and I have every right over her; after all, didn’t I buy her with my money? Sometimes you hear people say husbands rape their wives, but how possible is that? Is the man not supposed to have right over his wife? Anyway, if my wife dares to deny me sex then it means she has given me a clean license to go out and enjoy myself!”

WOMEN got much flak in some readers’ response to the write-up with the above title. They felt that women don’t take enough time to scrutinize the men they have a relationship with, but rather, they are dazzled by good looks, money and positions, and they rush into the relationship or marriage, only to discover that the man’s not all they thought him to be.

Elderly Persons’ Bill: Seems good, but…

WHATEVER our situation, rich or poor, high or lowly, the first thing on most prayer lists is ‘long life’. We spend all our life working towards a peaceful, happy and prosperous old age. For a handful across the globe, God makes this possible. But for many, especially the masses, this is elusive.

Sex of your child: Does it matter?

Sex of your child: Does it matter?

Madam, I don’t care what sex of children my wife and I produce,” said a colleague. “Our major concern before we got married was that the Lord should give us healthy kids, and the where withal to cater for them properly. In His wisdom, He gave us three girls first and then a boy.

Re: Elections in Nigeria – a disgrace

There are so many advisers on every subject under the sun, and yet things are not working in the country. When people have cheated and battled their way to be declared winner at the polls, they forget fast what they’re supposed to be doing in that position. Why? They’re so busy chasing contracts and lining their pockets.
