Agency wants producers, marketers to improve quality of locally made products

UMUAHIA—IMPRESSED by the quality of leather products such as shoes, bags, belts, purses and others produced by artisans in Aba, the commercial hub of Abia State, the Department for International Development, DFID, has advocated for a synergy between producers and marketers to further improve the quality of the locally made products. The DFED believed that improved quality of the leather products from Aba would contribute immensely to the growth of the Nigerian economy as there is the potential of exporting these leather products to other countries, including Europe, which would make them more competitive at the international market.
