Jos—NO fewer than 211 youths in three local government areas of Plateau central zone, trained in various skills have been tasked to engage in productive ventures rather than be willing tools for agents of destruction not only in the zone, but the entire state.

The youths from Mangu, Pankshin and Bokkos Local Government areas trained in tailoring, catering, barbing and in other skills, were equally admonished not to allow the investment in their lives to be a waste, but use the provided opportunity to secure for themselves a future of value.

The Project Manager of Institute for Governance and Social Research, IGSR, Mr. Celestine Ukatu, who spearheaded the training, reminded the youths that the aim of the training was to ensure that they become self-reliant and stop being vulnerable to people who may want to exploit them.

He said: “We have here over 200 youths trained in collaboration with Youth Adolescent Reflection and Action Centre, YARAC; Wise Youth Development Foundation and Centre for Peace Advancement in Nigeria, CEPAN, in various skills, which will empower them economically and make them less vulnerable in the society.”
