A pressure group, the Movement of True Democrats of Nigeria, MTDN, has called on those emphasizing the issue of zoning arrangement of political offices in the country to desist from such, saying it amounts to distraction of President Goodluck Jonathan’s government from delivering the dividends of democracy to the electorate.
The group made the call in a statement signed by Comrade Macus Atete, president; Comrade Vincent Osiene, vice president and Comrade Prince Jehwo, secretary, at the end of its national meeting in Warri.
According to the group: “What should be our pre-occupation is credible leadership through a credible leader, all the calls for zoning and scheming are merely distracting him from positioning the country. Those behind these maneuvering are enemies of the country.â€
The group urges support for Jonathan presidential bid come 2011 to enable him unite all ethnic groups in Nigeria.
