ABUJA-The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has again taken the President Muhammadu Buhari administration to task over the latter’s achievement claims in the last two and a half years.

From the left, Deputy National Chairman North, Senator Gamawa Garba; Deputy National Chairman South, Elder Yemi Akinwunmi; National Chairman People’s Democratic Party, Prince Uche Sekondus; the Chairman National Caretaker Committee, Senator Ahmed Mekarfi; the Chairman Board of Trustees, Senator Walid Jibrin; Secretary Caretaker Committee, Senator Ben Obi and others looked on during a hand over ceremony to the newly elected members of the PDP National Executive Committee Members at the Party Headquarters, Wadata House, Wuse, Abuja. In a series of tweets on his Twitter Handle on Thursday, National Publicity Secretary of the Party, Kola Ologbodiyan urged the ruling party to imbibe the practice of crediting the PDP for the projects it carried out while in power rather than laying claim to same.

“APC government is commissioning PDP administration’s achievements. For example, the projected halt in rice importation is a major policy plank and achievement of the Goodluck Jonathan administration. All the policies and the major private sector investments in local rice production and processing (Olam, Dangote, etc) were initiated during the Jonathan administration,” he wrote, adding that “What we are seeing is the result of a process started long ago.”

In yet another tweet, the publicity scribe noted that “The gains in tomato processing in the North West zone were all achieved through the proper funding of dams and irrigation projects by the Jonathan administration.”

And in what appeared a shot at President Buhari’s change agenda, Ologbodiyan said nothing new has been attained thus far, insisting that the achievements incumbent government is laying claims to remain the legacies left behind by the PDP.

“The Buhari government has not added a single new thing in Agriculture. In the power sector, all the incremental change that the APC is mouthing through Babatunde Fashola (The Minister of Power, Works and Housing), were laid by the PDP,” he tweeted @officialKolaO, stressing that “Government is a continuum but APC should give the credit to PDP; APC has no initiative but busy appropriating PDP achievements.”
