MAIDUGURI—Borno State First Lady and Founder of Support for Widows, Orphans and Tsangaya Foundation, SWOT, Hajiya Nana Shettima, has distributed bags of rice and cartons of sphaghetti, gallons of palm/vegetable oil, semovita, sets of wrapper and cash donation of N5,000 to each of the 200 Christian widows in Maiduguri.

Distributing the items yesterday at Government House, Nana said the gifts were to support the Christian widows and their families to enable them celebrate the festive season with ease.

Nana, represented by the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajja Fanta Shehu, said the annual event is a way of translating into action the aims and objective of her pet project, tagged SWOT.

In a vote of thanks on behalf of the beneficiaries, the Chairperson of Borno State Christian Widows Association, BSCWAS, thanked Hajiya Nana for identifying with the Christian community during festive period.
