Bindawa LG distributes 8,000 bags of fertilizer to farmers

Bindawa Local Government Council in Katsina State has said that 8,000 bags of fertiliser would be distributed to farmers in the area at subsidized rate.

The Chairman of the council, Alhaji Abdu Umaru, announced this  while launching the 2010 fertiliser sale in Kamri village recently.

Umaru, who was represented by the Secretary of the Council, Alhaji Ibrahim Tama, said the distribution would based on wards and polling units.

He said that each polling unit in all the 11 wards was allocated 60 bags of the commodity.
The Chairman said the commodity would be sold at N1,500 per bag, adding that efforts were ongoing to provide other inputs to boost output. He, however, warned farmers against diverting the commodity.

In his remarks, Alhaji Yaro Mamman, the Chairman, Fertiliser Distribution Committee, Daura zone, urged the committees at the ward levels to ensure that the commodity reach the targeted farmers.
