PORT HARCOURT— Activities still continued at Novotel Hotel on Stadium Road, Port Harcourt, Rivers State,  four days after Governor Nyesom Wike announced that the Certificate of Occupancy, C of O, of the place will be revoked.

When Vanguard visited the place, yesterday, private guards at the gate were seen attending to vehicles driving in and out.  One of the guards told our  correspondent that work was ongoing at the hotel.

At the main hall, a front desk staff, who did not want his name in print, said the hotel had resolved all the differences it had with the state government.

“We have resolved every difference we had with the government. You can see that we are working. Guests are in some of the rooms. Nobody has asked anybody to move out,” he said.

It will  be recalled that Governor Wike had at a church service on Sunday in Port Harcourt, announced that the state government will  revoke the certificate of occupancy of the hotel, stressing that the place was being used by  some leaders of the opposition party to manipulate election results in the state.

The governor spoke against the backdrop of cries by Senator Magnus Abe, representing Rivers South East senatorial district that the  congress of his All Progressive Congress, APC,  did not hold as scheduled on Saturday in the state.

Abe had told newsmen that  committee  members deployed by the national leadership of the party to monitor the congress were  allegedly diverted to the hotel.
