Late Pa Adekoya
The Adekoya Family of Gbawojo, in the Ijebu North-East Local Government Area of Ogun State has announced the death of their father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and brother, Pa Simon Adewale Obatokieleso Adekoya.

A statement by his eldest child, Mr Adekunle Adekoya, Deputy Editor of Vanguard indicated that Pa Adekoya passed on in the evening of Friday 23 June, and was buried the following day, Saturday 24 June, in accordance with his wishes. He had expressed the wish to be buried within 18 hours of his demise nearly 40 years ago. He would have clocked 84 next October.
Born October 12, 1933, Pa Adekoya worked all his life in the local government service of first, the old Western Region, and later Ogun State, retiring in 1991. He was an accountant and handled the finances of local governments as Treasurer. He is survived by his widow, Mrs Deborah Olayemi Adekoya, his brother, Mr Abel Adetayo Adekoya, many children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Final rites of passage will be announced by the family later.
