Yenagoa—Worried by the escalating tension in their predominantly riverine state, Bayelsa elders have called on security operatives in the state to double their efforts at restoring normalcy to the state.
The elders, under the aegis of Bayelsa Elders Consultative Council, also called on the security agencies to unravel those behind the spate of bombing in the state capital, by bringing them to book.
Residents of the state capital, said they now live in fear, as nobody knows where the next explosive will be detonated. The position of the elders which is contained in a resolution reached at an emergency meeting in Yenagoa.
They condemned the spate of bomb explosions in the state capital and also pleaded with members of the public to remain calm, avoid rumour mongering and other acts capable of worsening the already tensed state.
