As opinions continue to be divided over the propriety of President Goodluck Jonathan running in next year’s general election, a nascent organisation, the Goodluck Grassroot Movement (GGM) has warned politicians to desist from overheating the polity on the matter, which it says is “an unconstitutional contraptionâ€.
The group, in a statement in Abuja said the issue of who leads the country should be based on merit and track record and not on where a candidate comes from, pointing out that in the present circumstance.
“Jonathan remains the best man to steer the ship of the nationâ€, it said through its National Secretary Otunba Wasiu Banjo.
