*Adamu, Maigari, Ogunjobi witness election

A new dawn  emerged for the Nigeria Football Supporters Club (NFSC) last Saturday as about 250 registered/authentic members of the club across the 19 state chapters of the country converged on the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos to elect their choice of leaders into various offices of the club. The election which saw the ‘who is who’ in the industry of sports during the most credible and fair election by all the stakeholders present has produced a new National Chairman in the person of former Secretary General, Rev. Samuel Ikpea.

Rev. Ikpea defeated his opponent Mr. Aromire Murtala by 168 votes to 7 to become the new National  Chairman. Also keenly contested for are the offices of the 1st & 2nd vice chairman where Dr. Utoh Donaltus beat former 2nd Vice Chairman, Engr. Siawe Ebi Isaac by 87- 84 votes cast.

For the Secretary General position, Barr. Kunle Adeniyi defeated his opponent, Prince Olowu Victor by 121 votes to 43.

Candidates for 11 other offices such as the 3rd vice Chairman, Treasurer, PRO ,Welfare officer, amongst others were returned unopposed.

An oath of office administered by Barr. Akindele Akinwumi who also doubles as a member of the club was taken by all the elected officers with a certificate of return immediately issued to all the  elected officers by the Chairman Electoral committee, Elder Ademola Bankole.  The election was attended by former Director General of the defunct National Sports Commission, NSC, Dr. Amos Adamu, immediate past NFF president, Alhaji Aminu Maigari, Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi (former NFF secretary general and now Osun FA Chairman), Dr. Bolaji Ojo-Oba, a former NSC Director, S.A on sports to the Governor of Lagos State, among other personalities.

In their collective reactions, they all commended the election committee headed by Elder Ademola Bankole for organizing a free and fair election.
